2.3.1.7. Visual Studio 2008 does not recognize Windows Mobile 6 SDK when the SDK is already installed. If a user installs Visual Studio 2008 on a computer that already has Windows Mobile 6 SDK, Visual Studio 2008 will not recognize the SDK. Repairing Windows Mobile 6 SDK will not solve this. To resolve this issue: 1. Uninstall Windows Mobile 6 SDK. 2. Reinstall... Read More...
Anyone seen the HTC WM6 upgrade for the S620? It's about this (><) big....
Thursday, July 05, 2007 10:45 PM
Like other HTC S620 owners, I'm frustrated. Frustrated that we have to wait on a WM6 upgrade ROM for our S620s when T-Mobile has had a WM6 upgrade out for the Dash for months now. Sure, I could flash my S620 to the T-Mobile WM6 ROM. I'd rather not [deal with all the T-Mo ...stuff]. Although, I might. Both my JasJar (which I used purely for dev) and my... Read More...

The Motorola Q is a failure (and related rants)
Thursday, June 08, 2006 3:22 AM
In TMM 141 , I complained a bit about the Motorola Q. I was writing a more in-depth post about it tonight when I took a break to get caught up on my unread posts in FeedDemon and I saw that Nick (and the CEO of his employer, Greg) have very nicely illustrated all of my complaints. So, I deleted my unfinished post. Here’s the posts on Nick’s blog (I would encourage... Read More...

MEDC 2006: Day 2 - Windows Mobile Security
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 10:25 PM
Earlier today I attended Jason Fuller’s “ Windows Mobile Application Security” session – a very good walkthrough in regards to dealing with the WM security models(s). During his talk he announced the release of the Device Security Manager – a tool to use in querying the device security configuration and certificate stores. Very cool (and useful). It is supposed... Tuesday's big event was the keynote given by Peter Knook, Senior VP, Mobile and Embedded Devices Division. During the keynote, Windows CE 6 was announced (note that 'announced' != 'released', CE6 is currently in beta) . What's special about CE6? How about 32,000 processes.. each with a virtual memory limit of 2GB? That's a pretty good starting point. Not to mention... Read More...

EDGE Icon Tweak
Thursday, March 16, 2006 12:02 AM
If you have one of the newer* ROMs for your HTC Wizard (aka Qtek 9100 / i-mate K-JAM) and your network supports EDGE , one tweak you can make is to change your network icon to indicate when you have an EDGE connection and when you have a GPRS connection. In other words, the “G” icon will show when you have GPRS and a “E” icon will show when you have EDGE. This... Read More...
