Monday, April 21, 2008 10:54 PM

MVP Summit Although I have now received the MVP award three times (2006, 2007, 2008) , this year is the first time I have made it out to Redmond for the MVP Summit. And wow, very glad that I did attend! In sum, MVP Summit 2008... Read More...

microsoft.com runs on Windows Server 2008 Beta3
Sunday, June 17, 2007 11:07 PM
I received this link from a colleague. Very cool to see microsoft.com on Windows Server 2008 Beta 3. Looking up www.microsoft.com on netcraft has mildly interesting results: on several of the updates, they list the web server as IIS 7.0, but the OS as Windows Server 2003. The latest (14-Jun-2007) update shows OS unknown and web server as IIS 7.0. ...and for you... Read More...

Media player stop working on Vista? Look here.
Thursday, March 15, 2007 3:08 PM
Yeah. It's damn annoying, too. All of a sudden I fire up the Zune client or Windows Media Player (WMP), select what I want, and then hit play. And nothing happens. The first time this happened I was having a really bad day so I said enough with this and rebooted. Fixed it, but that's a crappy way to fix it. After some research, I came across this KB article[1... Read More...

My laptop transmogrifies into a hair dryer and other Vista installation tales
Thursday, March 15, 2007 12:55 AM
After I rolled off of my last project, I decided that it was time to flatten my laptop and start anew as it was getting a bit crufty (and, if for no other reason, to rid me of the evil known as ClearCase ). I decided (as evidenced by the title of this post) to go with Vista [Enterprise] instead of another WinXP install. So, I made the usual preparations and then... Read More...

I recently had a reader of my SlingBox review from last spring inquire about my ISA Server configuration to allow me to remotely access it the Slingbox. Here's what I did: On the ISA Server : Note: I am running Microsoft ISA Server 2006; these instructions should also work on Microsoft ISA Server 2004. Insight into the Task Manager
Sunday, September 25, 2005 2:13 PM
Jeff Atwood has a great piece on the Task Manager where he explains each section of information on it and how it is valuable / can be used and what columns you should view and such. I'd recommend giving it a read, you might learn a thing or two (I did, and I thought I was very well versed in the TM). -Nino Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it!... Read More...

Microsoft bribing the blogosphere?
Tuesday, September 06, 2005 5:14 PM
reminder: this post is an opinion (check the category); that means that these are my thoughts. This opinion is, in no way, representative of the thoughts of my employer, my friends, or even my spouse (eventhough she does actually read my blog). msmobiles.com has published this piece about Microsoft “influencing” the blogosphere.
