TMM reloaded, jogging strollers, and other notes
Tuesday, April 01, 2008 12:28 PM
My The Mobile Minute series, like much of my blogging, has been rather spotty for oh, the last year or so as I have come to deal with a new responsibility while still attempting to do everything I was doing before that new responsibility. That has worked out pretty well, eh? Meh. At one point, I was thinking about killing TMM (although I'm certain many folk already...

Enzo at Six Months
Monday, January 21, 2008 11:00 PM
Enzo turned six months old on the 8th of this month, and had his six month checkup today (1/21). He is 27.5" tall (69.85cm) and weighs 18lbs, 10oz (8.4kg). What a change from six months ago ! He is sitting up alone, still sleeping twelve or so hours at night, eating fruits and vegetables, and is one happy bambino. And did I mention that we're starting to see...

Goals for 2008
Monday, January 21, 2008 4:34 PM
Yes, it is the 21st of January and I'm posting a 'goals for the year post' which one might usually expect on the 1st; I'm at the tail end of my 'catching up on things', so, well, meh. I only published 58 blog posts in 2007, 46 of those prior to July 2007. In contrast, I published 92 blog posts in 2006. What happened? My son was born in July 2007. As you can see...

Twittering no more
Sunday, January 06, 2008 7:50 PM
Deleted my Twitter account today. Yep. I didn't use it much anyway. Noise to signal ratio is way too high. No need to broadcast all the details. That makes another item taken care of on my journey down the path of simplification. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Visiting the mothership
Tuesday, September 05, 2006 12:39 AM
I'm heading to Seattle on Tuesday (2006/09/05) for some project related meetings at Microsoft (buildings 117, 119) Wednesday and Thursday. I'm hoping to meet up with some Avanade folks and [hopefully] some additional Microsoft folks while I'm in the area. I'm looking forwarding to this trip; not only for some of the folks I'm going to be meeting...

A good week...
Wednesday, April 12, 2006 3:05 AM
Some of my readers my wonder where I’ve been the last week or two as there has been no TMM and I have, as they say, “gone ghost”. Well, gentle readers, between working on some internal Avanade stuff, tending to some personal matters, and being in training in Chicago last week, I’ve been fairly busy. Last week though, outside of a great deal of difficulty in getting...

Some thoughts on male grooming (AKA I went 'old school' and I love it)
Tuesday, February 28, 2006 12:31 AM
Getting through all of my unread blogs, I saw these two posts from Chuck Charbeneau [friend/co-worker/comedian] about shaving/grooming. For my birthday in November, my wife – who must have been reading my mind – bought me some new shaving gear (and then I bought some additional stuff) . I now shave each day with a double-edged safety razor [ Merkur “Long Classic...

New Year's um, er....goals
Wednesday, January 11, 2006 8:27 PM
I thought I'd write up some goals that I have for this year: Continue using the Getting Things Done model . I got into this about mid-year last year (and somewhat half-hearted, I might add), then picked it up with diligence in the fall and I'm going strong. Continue working towards a healthier lifestyle. When I had my 30-something birthday in November, I took...

Give me a gift voucher for it? -Nino Now playing: Johnny Cash - Ring Of Fire Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Monday, December 19, 2005 8:37 PM
For those wondering, The Mobile Minute (and my sanity) took a bit of a break last week. I spent the better part of the week tending to my wife (recovering from a septoplasty [1]) and to a bunch of things around the house that were going on (poor scheduling on our part). Of course, my [work] productivity plummeted (sorry, guys). She got her stents out on Friday...

Cooking for Engineers
Monday, December 19, 2005 8:08 PM
On Saturday I was fixing stuffed pork chops for our main course and thought about changing it up a bit so I took a moment to peruse the usual suspects ( Epicurious , FoodTV , et al) for some ideas but didn’t find anything to tickle my fancy. I hit Google and one of the links I got back was Cooking For Engineers . Some interesting things there; give it a gander...

Land of 10,000 lakes
Thursday, October 06, 2005 6:07 AM
I'm in the " Land of 10,000 lakes " this week on a 'special assignment' and it is has been quite the interesting week so far. Tuesday started with a diverted flight and ended with dinner during a nasty storm and a loss of electrical power. As my flight neared the airport, a line of storms arose and the plane did not have enough fuel to hold a pattern, so we were...

Sold my old WinCE / PPC devices ..
Thursday, September 01, 2005 2:32 PM
I had a Philips Velo 500 and an HP iPAQ h3650 lying around and decided that I'd be better off with some cash (sadly, I know..), so I went to UsedHandhelds.com and inquired about selling my devices to them. I promptly received an e-mail from Wayne who gave me an estimate. Once I returned from vacation, I shipped them off to Iowa, and I received a check shortly...
