Blog changes - Part II (the joys of medium trust)
Friday, September 21, 2007 3:14 PM
Earlier this month, I signed up with FeedBurner in order to have a better syndication experience for my readers. That was Part I of the changes. Part II took a bit longer than the additional time I had allowed for it. "The plan" for Part II was to move off of Community Server (hereafter, CS) 2007 and onto Subtext. Things didn...

Single-blog setup in CS2007 with a dash of URL rewriting on top
Friday, September 21, 2007 3:12 PM
My goal here was convert my Community Server 2007 installation to have a single blog (and have a URL of the format http://domain.tld/blog ) and maintain my file library (at http://domain.tld/files ) . Since I switched to SmugMug , I have photo galleries disabled in addition to turning off forums, FeedReader, and BlogRoller. To accomplish the transition...

USDA - Making organic well, not so much
Friday, June 29, 2007 1:19 AM
Earlier this year, I finally got it through my thick skull that I need to take better care of myself and have made a number of changes to that end. One way I am doing this is by changing my diet [1]. As part of changing my diet, I buy/eat organic food when possible. It is simply a much healthier way to eat. In the US, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA...

Minimalist skin for Windows Media Player
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 11:27 PM
I happened to be on WMPlugins.com looking for a particular plug-in and, on a whim, decided to take a quick look through the skins. I found Minimalist . Finally, a decent small skin for WMP so that I can keep it out of my task bar [when it is minimized]. I have a few minor complaints (of course), but fits the bill pretty well. MVP 2007
Thursday, April 05, 2007 12:00 AM
My MVP award [Device Application Development] was renewed* for 2007. Very cool. Thank you, Microsoft! *or is it more accurate to just say 'awarded for 2007' ? Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

A new addition to the collective
Friday, March 16, 2007 11:31 PM
Update: I just noticed that, despite having set a title for each link, apparantly Windows Live Writer dumped those when it published this post. Sorry, folks. Seems as though several folks are buying or building new computers right about now. Well, me too. Yep, time to replace my home workstation. I received a couple of boxes via UPS this week, so you know what...

Missing the MVP Summit

Unfortunately, I will not be attending the MVP Summit next week due to personal/family issues. Bummer. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Lately
Friday, March 02, 2007 11:14 AM
I've been a bit spotty the last few months on the blog and in my usual newsgroup and forum participation as well. What's up with that? In a word, work. I just rolled off of a project that was, in some respects, like no other. It had a very aggressive schedule (not so rare) , had a large and diverse team from different corporate cultures (made things....

IE7 beta 2 tidbits
Saturday, February 04, 2006 4:35 PM
Looks like IE7 beta2 has an Expose-like feature for tiling all your tabs (via Otaku Software blog ). That same post gives a link to Viamatic foXpose for Firefox. Nifty! Oh, and if you’re wondering what Otaku Software makes – it’s TopDesk (now at v1.4) …and speaking of IE7 Beta 2, Scott Hanselman gives instructions on how to run it without installing it . -Nino...

Microsoft bribing the blogosphere?
Tuesday, September 06, 2005 5:14 PM
reminder: this post is an opinion (check the category); that means that these are my thoughts. This opinion is, in no way, representative of the thoughts of my employer, my friends, or even my spouse (eventhough she does actually read my blog). msmobiles.com has published this piece about Microsoft “influencing” the blogosphere. What’s the issue? Microsoft loaned...

T&E humor
Sunday, August 07, 2005 8:05 AM
I’m working through my work Inbox (rather full from my week on holiday) on my way Salt Lake City (final destination Seattle) this morning and I was entering in my travel time for today into our time and expense application. The current version of this app, 4.0, was re-written in .NET and is pretty sweet (compared to the old VBx-derived version). The part...

WCF, WPF - it could have been worse
Wednesday, July 27, 2005 3:17 PM
“Longhorn” has been unveiled as Windows Vista (add my -1 for liking that..although maybe it will grow on me) and now we get more pieces of the puzzle: “Avalon” shall be known henceforth as Windows Presentation Foundation and “Indigo” shall be known henceforth as Windows Communication Foundation. Guess what? I actually like...
