TMM reloaded, jogging strollers, and other notes
Tuesday, April 01, 2008 12:28 PM
My The Mobile Minute series, like much of my blogging, has been rather spotty for oh, the last year or so as I have come to deal with a new responsibility while still attempting to do everything I was doing before that new responsibility. That has worked out pretty well, eh? Meh. At one point, I was thinking about killing TMM (although I'm certain many folk already... Read More...

Blog changes - Part II (the joys of medium trust)
Friday, September 21, 2007 3:14 PM
Earlier this month, I signed up with FeedBurner in order to have a better syndication experience for my readers.   That was Part I of the changes. Part II took a bit longer than the additional time I had allowed for it.  "The plan" for Part II was to move off of Community Server (hereafter, CS) 2007 and onto Subtext.  Things didn... Single-blog setup in CS2007 with a dash of URL rewriting on top
Friday, September 21, 2007 3:12 PM
My goal here was convert my Community Server 2007 installation to have a single blog (and have a URL of the format http://domain.tld/blog ) and maintain my file library (at http://domain.tld/files ) . Since I switched to SmugMug , I have photo galleries disabled in addition to turning off forums, FeedReader, and BlogRoller.  To accomplish the transition... Read More...

Sunday, April 29, 2007 7:18 PM
FeedDemon front-man, Nick Bradbury, announced last week that v2.5 Beta 4 is now available . Check the release notes to see all the new/changed/fixed items. I must say, as a consumer of his software and as a developer, I really appreciate the thorough release notes Nick puts together for each release (particularly the betas) . CS 2.1 SP2 - upgrade successful!
Monday, January 01, 2007 8:55 PM
I upgraded nino.net tonight to Community Server 2.1, SP2 from CS 2.0. I was already running on ASP.NET 2.0, so that saved me a few steps. I did my upgrade something like this: Download and unpack CS 2.1 SP2 (ASP.NET 2.0) bits. Get my host to back up my database. FTP down my database backup. FTP down my web bits and diff against what I have under version control... Read More...

CS 2.1
Sunday, August 13, 2006 3:57 PM
Just upgraded to CS 2.1 (with much trepidation, I might add) . I don't know what, if anything, is wonky as I just did a basic "can I get to my blog test". I need to re-apply the mods to the theme (the MVP logo, my photo, etc) and double-check my old redirection stuff. I had an issue with the db script - I had to modify the cs_SiteSettings_Get stored... The one thing that Nino would change in Community Server 2.0
Friday, April 28, 2006 3:12 PM
Scott Watermasysk has responded to Chris Lotter's post on what he would change in Community Server 2.0. Swell (and some good stuff, too). But.... Here's the one thing that Nino would change: 1. Ensure that everything functions in ASP.NET 2.0 under medium trust . (and I don't mind doing a bunch of edits to my config or using alternate assemblies (some of which... Read More...
