MEDC 2006: Day 2 - P&P's Mobile CAB
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 3:54 PM
This morning I am sitting in a very full session by the P&P folks: " Patterns & Practices for Mobile Client Part 2/4 - Mobile Composite UI Application Block ". I have started to look at the Mobile Client Software Factory bits, evaluating the various components for use in my current project (of course comparing to Avanade's own ACA Devices asset). Once...

Code Keep VS2005 add-in released
Tuesday, February 28, 2006 1:28 AM
I got an IM from Dave the other night and he let me know that he had released the Visual Studio 2005 add-in for Code Keep . Now, as Dave noted, I have no excuse not to put my .NET / .NET CF 2.0 snippets into Code Keep. -Nino Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Differencing .sln and .xxproj files
Tuesday, November 22, 2005 1:16 PM
Why can I not diff (compare) a solution or project file in Visual Studio by right-clicking on the file in the Solution Explorer and selecting ‘Compare’? The only way, AFAIK, to perform a diff in the IDE is (after selecting the file in the Solution Explorer) to do File > Source Control > Compare. I wonder why that is… (and feel free to call me lazy for wanting...

Don't confuse him with the other one . yeah..that's about it. -Nino Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

It's the emulator, stupid!!!
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 7:50 PM
Just a quick reminder to anyone who’s been hip-deep in Whidbey/Windows Mobile 5: when you go to deploy a [legacy] VS2003/WM2003 app to WM2003 emulator, you need to pick the x86 CAB … DOH! I spent twenty minutes trying to figure out why my CAB wouldn’t install on the emulator (I even re-wrote the .inf file – I got pretty handy at that...

my recent project
Friday, March 04, 2005 1:41 PM
Some time ago I blogged that I was going to post about my last project .. and now, after three re-writes (*sigh*), here’s the post.. The location and schedule: Started off in New Jersey in June 2004; after a few months we moved down to D.C. to be with the server team. The schedule was, um, challenging ( to say the least ). The business: Uh… government...

The Mobile Minute 79

No witty comments today (..as if) – just working away, trying to not have to shovel the driveway too much.. I think we’ve gotten something like 10” 12” of snow so far..(and lovely topping of ice last night). Oh, our new digicam showed up yesterday ( Merry Christmas to us) – a Canon A95 . Hits most of our requirements, easy enough...

The Mobile Minute 72
Thursday, September 30, 2004 11:07 PM
Burned a good chunk of the day today trying to resolve an issue with .NET CF consuming an Axis (Java) web service . Any thoughts out there? Steve links to Nasa World Wind (written in .NET, no less) -- not mobile, but pretty cool. It's been Slashdotted, so YMMV Ori Amiga talks about some of the sweet APIs coming in .NET CF v2 .. I've been playing with vs2005 in...

The dreaded "Could Not Copy Temporary Files to the Output Directory" error message
Wednesday, September 08, 2004 12:12 AM
My team ran into the aforementioned issue today. Grrr. Two of us spent some time trying to resolve this. ( MSKB article , fyi) Our solution has eleven (11) projects in it, some .exe, some .dll, all WinCE. I ended up removing one project from the solution, deleting it (saving all the .cs, of course), re-creating it from scratch, and then re-adding the classes...
