The Mobile Minute 89

Some of you may notice that I have added a favorite icon (favicon.ico) to my site (oh, the excitement!)  I created this piece of, um, artwork with VS.NET ( File > New > File > Icon File).  I also happened to find this site which will convert a picture into a FavIcon.

Software / Hardware 

• Omar blogs about the Treo 650’s ability to consistently work as a phone
• Morpheus over at MobileRead lets us know that Microsoft has released v2.4 of Reader for Pocket PC.  msmobiles.com says “it is still no good”  Is it or isn’t it?  Get it and see for yourself.
• Intel claims Bluetooth is dead (struck down via WUSB).  via SmartphoneThoughts.com and MobileBurn 
• Symbian is the latest to license the Exchange ActiveSync protocol (recall that palmOne was first)
• An interesting piece over at ComputerWorld.  Are device manufacturers understanding their consumers? Not completely, and at the same time, users may not be making the best decisions either.
